The Legacy Scholars Program commissioned the Community and Youth Collaborative Institute at The Ohio State University (CAYCI-OSU) to examine progress-to-date towards meeting the goals of their 3-year Strategic Action Plan (SAP), to evaluate the following outcomes. There are three evaluation goals: (1) explore the process, quality and dosage of The Legacy Scholars Program and its program components and activities; (2) document the journeys of the 50 youth as they move through the program; and (3) examine the outcomes associated with The Legacy Scholars Program on the 50 youth involved in the first two years.
The focus will be on exploring both process and outcomes associated with the 20 youth who begin the program in the pilot year, along with the 30 who enter the program in June 2018. The CAYCI-OSU evaluation process began in November 2017 and will continue through 2019. Check out their website and get involved in supporting youth leadership programming.
The Legacy Scholars program is a unique coaching program that provides motivated students with personal 1:1 coaching to help them successfully move through their high school years and into a post-secondary learning experience. Throughout the four years, students will have opportunities to meet and interact with entrepreneurial thinkers, learn more about their own character strengths, develop and work toward their own goals, develop inquiry and problem solving skills, develop skills needed to interact in the world of work, and earn dollars toward college or other post-secondary training. The program is organized and administered by The Hagedorn Legacy Foundation with funding provided by The Hagedorn Legacy Foundation and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. Partners include The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University, The Mayerson Academy in Cincinnati and The Columbus Foundation.
